Twin Turbo Mustang Qualifies #1 at Arabian Drag Racing League Round 2

Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al Thani's Al-Anabi Racing twin turbo Mustang ran a solid 4.018 at 192.66 mph and qualified on the provisional pole in Top Sportsman class at the Arabian Drag Racing League Round 2 event at the Qatar Race Club near Doha, Qatar, on Dec. 3.

This is the second time in as many races that the Mustang, driven by "Crazy Moe” Atat has qualified number 1. Just two weeks ago the car, which was formerly Mike Castellana's nitrous Pro Mod took the pole running 4.16 and finished in first place running 4.06 in the final round.

The car features a 600 c.i. Chevy engine with twin Precision Pro Mod 94 turbos and a MoTeC Engine Management and data system calibrated by Shane Tecklenburg. It uses methanol for fuel and a Lencodrive transmission behind a Neal Chance converter. Fabrication work took place in Qatar at Al-Anabi Racing by Greg Johnson and Chad Morgan.

NOWLING CONFIRMS ADRL’S PENDING LITIGATION

http://www.competitionplus.com/index.php/drag-racing/news/12925-nowling-confirms-adrls-pending-litigation

Warns those involved, “You crossed the line”

ADRL President Kenny Nowling confirmed that litigation is forthcoming against multiple message boards and certain members for alleged libelous statements made against not only the sanctioning body but also him personally.

“I just got off of the phone with our legal counsel and the bottom line is that we are going to explore every legal option in this instance,” said Nowling via cell phone from JFK Airport in New York while en route to the next Arabian Drag Racing League event in Qatar . “I’m all for free speech and purposely refrained for the last five years in posting on them. I don’t begrudge anyone who uses message board forums.

“If someone doesn’t like Kenny Nowling, the ADRL or the way we run our show or make our rules -- that’s okay. I don’t begrudge those who disagree with us. But, I do have a problem with those who cross the line and make false accusations in the form of letters and emails to our sponsors, whom we have worked tirelessly to bring in to benefit our racers and race fans.”

At issue are allegations that Nowling, through his American Drag Racing League association with the Arabian Drag Racing League, has through his allowance of Mustapha Mohammad Atat’s participation in events, harbored a fugitive from justice. Nowling contends those accusations are totally untrue.

Atat is wanted by U.S. Authorities in connection with the death of a bystander struck in the midst of an illegal street race between Atat and Aaron Reynolds in Detroit. AMERICA'S MOST WANTED VIDEO (Case begins 14:45 into Interview)

“They made accusations in written letters that I was harboring, aiding and abetting a fugitive wanted for murder. I’m not going to get into all of the details of Moe Atat, that will be for another day. All I can tell you is that what started as harmless opinions on message boards have threatened my livelihood.

“There are some people who think they can say anything or do anything in the name of freedom of speech. But they crossed the line and they know who they are. I will spend every penny I’ve got to make sure no one will take anything away from me, my racers and the ADRL fans based on 100-percent false accusations. I am in no way shape or form harboring any fugitive from justice.”

Nowling said that prior to these actionable statements, he was working with the parties involved to provide a settlement for the victims of the fatal accident on October 8, 2001.

“I am going to continue to work diligently towards that regardless of what happens here,” Nowling said.

But for those, whom Nowling has declared, crossed the line, he’s ready to set the record straight.

“At the end of the day, and these people know who they are, there won’t be a rock safe enough for them to hide under,” Nowling cautioned. “People can say what they want about me, but they had better have the facts straight when they do. I will make sure I use every legal option available to make sure these guys never again make unfounded accusations without there being consequences.”

Nowling declined at this time to reveal those named in the suit, but did say an official statement could be released by the end of this week.

I went to the last ADRL event at Martin. Al-Anabi had several cars there, and we all wondered who the heck Al-Anabi was, or what they did, or what they sold. It was very obvious Al-Anabi has more money than they know what to do with and just that fact by itself made me a little uncomfortable.

Thats funny that you never heard of Al-Anabi Racing , you must not watch any professional drag racing in person or on tv .... or have read any drag racing magazines in the past 2 years . And if seeing a race team with several ( several means 2 usualy) cars in one event makes you uncomfortable ..... Then if you ever watch a NHRA National event on tv or in person you going to totaly freak out when you see John Forces team with 6 cars and god i forget how many cars Don shumacher has lol ..... so prepare yourself if you catch any racing this comming season ...

Ahh, that would be why. I just don’t see the appeal, personally. As this story kinda indicates, it’s not really about cars anymore. Same problem with NASCAR.

The other 2 are is other 2 daughters that are John Force racecars , i did not say anything about "Pro Teams " i was strictly speaking cars owned by the same owner, that you will see at a national event , i wasn't limiting my reply to any one certain class .And in my book if you can travel the NHRA national event circuit you should be considered a "Pro" reguadless of what class you run ...

Ok Ok ..... i'm going to try and win this agan....... LMMFAO...come on now admit Force owns 6 cars???????? that i'm right on that ???? reguardless of class that they run in , weather in YOUR opinion or not that they are lousey racers or go to school or not ...All this has zero , zip , nadda to do with the the fact that JOHN ... owns ALL 6 cars .Now for the 2nd WRONG thing you posted ESPN does show coverage of all the other classes / sportman included .....Have you never heard of Bob Frys sportsman coverage ?? lol . Like i said i wasn't limiting my post to only the 4 classes you listed ....The next time there on tv i'll call you and you can see for your self lol , that i'm right that more than just the 4 classes you only seem to see are telivised .Now with all that said i hope you sit back reading this let it sink in , don't post back with a cluddered head , clear your mind .... take a breath and just read the post for the words written , don't single out one word that i typed and make it bold and underlined and go off on a tangent about just one particular word as you have done several times all ready with the words PROFESSIONAL and ONLY lol cuz this could go on forever lol and frankly its wayyyyyyyyyyy old already . I know its your site but let someone else win , do the stand up thing and admit that John owns 6 race cars and that there are more than 4 classes in NHRA that are shown on tv thats the only thing i'm trying to get across is just those 2 things nothing else just consintrate on ONLY those 2 little things ??? its that simple man lol.No need to blow anything else out of proportion thats been said ... And if this doesn't end our little argument here we can settle it like men and do what women say " whip em out on the table and measure LMMFAO , I'm up for that if it comes to that i got nothing to be scared of there LOL....

Gary~~~
