'NIGHT MOVES' SATURDAY AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN DRAGWAY - Ladies Night

The first 'Night Moves' event will make its debut this Saturday at NMD. The program features an open, fun format for all, for $5 to race or to watch. As with the popular 'After Hours Street Drags' that is offered other evenings at the dragway, the event will run Pro Tree, Heads Up. In addition, there will be Street Trophy classes available for 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 second and motorcycle entries, for a small fee.
For the higher performance entries there are three classes available for cash payouts also. The classes are: Super Quick 5.70, Pro 6.50 and Pro 7.50. Dragsters are permitted in Super Quick, and anything but dragsters in the Pro divisions.
Ladies Night is the featured promotion for this Saturday, and all ladies will have free admission. Time Trials will begin at 5:00 pm, racing action begins at 8:00 pm.
These events are patterned after the hottest trends at local drag racing facilities these days, and NMD hopes to mirror their success; people want to have fun without the typical pressure, rules and structure of standard racing programs; this gives the locals that hang out in the parking lots and cruise night in the downtown area a chance to run their cars down the strip for only five bucks.
Largely inspired by movies such as The Fast And The Furious, computer games, and lately Pinks on the Speed Channel, these programs offer people a chance to have fun in a controlled legal, safe environment. NMD does not in any way condone or support racing on the street.
