Mat Hagan makes history first 3.99 in A Funny Car

Hagan made NHRA history when he powered his DieHard Dodge Charger to a 3.995-second run, the quickest in NHRA Funny Car history, at 316.23 mph Friday night to take the provisional No. 1 spot. If it stands, it would be his third No. 1 qualifier of the season and ninth of his career.

We witnessed some history last night at zMax Dragway during NHRA qualifying when Matt Hagan became the first funny car driver to break into the 3's. It was an awesome moment. Here is a shot of his car on the run as well as a shot of the scoreboard.

Matt Hagan discusses his historic 3-second run

Matt Hagan piloted his DieHard Funny Car to a 3.995 at 316.23 mph at zMax Dragway in Concord, NC. It was the first three-second Funny Car run in NHRA History.
