Wellington R. Burt, a Saginaw lumber king who died in 1919, included some unusual provisions in his multimillion dollar will.
Ninety-two years later, The Saginaw News will explore that testament’s impact on his living heirs while looking back at his storied, sometimes controversial life.

In total, Burt’s six children, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren missed out on the inheritance, whether because they weren’t eligible for it or because they didn’t survive the 92-year wait.

Those who will profit: three great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren, including Cameron and her 20-year-old sister.
