Government and citizens let this country down

For decades, we the people of the United States have been blind and deaf to what is happening in this country. We have concentrated on our jobs, our families and whatever made us happy. We have been in a “political coma.”

Our government in Washington is made up mostly of three kinds of people. Those who don’t have a clue how to run anything. Those who are in it for pure personal gain and some who want to take the country down purposely. In 2010, gains were made to replace these people with patriots. This must be continued in 2012 and beyond until the majority of the old guard is replaced. It is also imperative that Barack Hussein Obama not be returned to office for a second term.

For years our government, both Republicans and Democrats, has made bad trade policies that have given away jobs and cost our citizens dearly. They have given foreign aid to almost every country on the planet and stationed our military in far too many countries.

They have expanded government so extensively that now more people work in government than in manufacturing. With their social programs, they have created such dependency that one in seven Americans are on food stamps. Welfare, SSI and unemployment insurance is being abused with little to no oversight and an underground cash economy is flourishing. Government is not enforcing immigration laws. This all adds to the U.S. debt and the Fed just makes things worse by printing more money.

We have become a nation of takers. Too many people want to let others sacrifice, while they remain exempt. If you can’t be part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. How bad does the economic situation have to get before we again find that spirit of unity we had after 9-11? Perhaps everyone should read what the Bible says about selfishness or if they aren’t religious they might want to concentrate on the words of JFK: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
