So, after the 7 hours I spent driving all over South-Eastern MI today picking up parts, I went over to my buddies place where they were having a Dyno Party. Mind you, 98% of the vehicles there were nasty Cummins diesels, but what-ever. Anyway, since I wanted to get a baseline before I installed the aluminum driveshaft and a set of roller rockers I picked up today (knowing I was having this same dyno at my place in 2wks) I said the hell with it and auntie-d up. Damn am I ever glad I did!

Last year at Back to the Bricks on Livernois Dyno prior to me "really" using the Moates Quarterhorse the car put down 284rwhp/303rwtq in STD correction. Mind you, this is a 125K+ mile factory untouched Ford built 1997 Explorer GT40P LONG BLOCK (that means heads have never been off to port) with my cam, pushrods, retainers, valve springs, upper/lower EFI intake, yada, yada, your normal bolt on stuff. So what did it do today you ask???? Oh wait, you don't care.....well, I'm sure that there are plenty of NA 12 second guys out there, hell, 13 second guys on aluminum heads, that care, or will give me absolute s__t about this as I've already seen at the track so, I will entertain, cuz isn't that what all this is about anyhow? Serious as a heart attack though, she blew my mind and laid down 309/334 at the wheels. The dyno owner and his business partner were blown away since they are both fox body guys and the one guy said he was a bit depressed since his T/F headed 302 wouldn't make those #'s. Am I getting a big head? Nope, just realizing the fruit of my labors over the years of constantly tweaking/tuning it. S__T is bad arse.

Do you doubt it? Come on up to my place Oct. 1st for MY dyno day. Anyone interested please pm me and I'll get you the info. I would REALLY like to see some more Mustangs represent up here! And lest you think that I only want Mustangs, I am a converted die hard F-Body freak, and my brother in law with his '02 WS-6 will be there, along with some old school Buick guys, man I could care less what it is, as long as it makes some noise up there while the rest of us sit back and drink beer!

Well we did it, we had our dyno party this past saturday. I got the FRPP roller rockers in and the FRPP driveshaft. In the end they were worth 8hp and 12lb/ft, this wasn't just at peak, with the pulls overlayed I picked up throughout the range. Granted this was done on different days but same dyno, same correction factor (SAE). So now the #'s are 317rwhp and 346rwtq. It was a great day, we had a total of 9 cars and trucks run, and man there were some cool ones! My poor little 302 was 2nd from the bottom as far as HP/TQ, but it was also the smallest engine on there too. I did get 2 good datalogs from the pulls also.
